Winter & Spring

With three world-class ski areas and the impressive Utah Olympic Park, it’s no wonder Park City was host to so many events during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and continues to host the World Cup and other high-profile competitions each winter. Average annual snowfall is 350-inches of the “Greatest Snow on Earth,” making Utah renowned for the lightest, driest, and most consistent snowfall on the planet. Skiing, snowboarding, bobsledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and Nordic skiing are just some of the favorite winter pastimes.

The Preserve is an easy drive to the town’s three world-class ski areas – Park City Mountain, Deer Valley Resort and the new Mayflower Resort scheduled opening 2025. Park City Mountain Canyons Village, closest to The Preserve, offers the luxury of concierge-guided skiing and fine dining throughout the resort village. We’re also about 45 minutes to Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird, Alta, and Sundance ski areas. The Park City Ice Arena is a center for curling, hockey and ice skating, and the Park City Racquet Club offers indoor tennis and workout facilities. Summer & Fall

The Preserve’s Flying Dog trail provides access to miles of trails in the area. Deer Valley, Park City Mountain Resort, and Canyons offer lift-served mountain biking and hiking. The Mid-Mountain Trail at 8,000 feet connects the three resorts. Jordanelle and Rockport reservoirs are scenic spots for boating, waterskiing, windsurfing and jet skiing. The Provo and Weber rivers provide exceptional opportunities for fly fishing, kayaking and whitewater rafting.

CULTURAL OFFERINGS

Park City’s diverse cultural events and offerings rival those of even the most cosmopolitan areas. From performing and visual arts to culinary and wine events, there truly is something to suit every whim and interest throughout the year.

Main Street’s historic Egyptian Theatre offers musicals, plays and stand up comedy on a weekly basis. The Park City Film Series features screenings of the latest independent and foreign films. Park City Performing Arts Foundation brings national music acts to the Eccles Center in the winter and the outdoor amphitheater at Deer Valley throughout the summer. Utah Symphony & Opera’s Deer Valley Music Festival offers numerous concerts during the summer months. On Thursdays throughout the summer, there is live music outdoors just a few minutes from The Preserve at Newpark Town Center, as well as at The Canyons. The Park City Food and Wine Classic has become an established event in July for culinary and wine aficionados, attracting an array of wineries and celebrated chefs from the area. One of the biggest arts festivals in the country, The Park City Kimball Arts Festival occupies Main Street the first weekend of August featuring national and international artists showcasing their works to thousands of art lovers.

And then there’s the Sundance Film Festival, one of the world’s largest and most renowned gatherings of filmmakers, celebrities and entertainment-related companies. PRESERVE TRAIL SYSTEM

In cooperation with Mountain Trails Foundation, The Preserve has constructed more than 11 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, ski touring and snowshoeing. The Flying Dog Trail, popular for its exhilarating encounters with migrating moose and elk, leads over the mountain into The Preserve’s 450 acres of Designated Open Space in the Morgan County wilderness. With a very strong commitment to open space, public trails are the natural path to the broadest appreciation of nature.
